About Me

Meet Sophi

When I read a blog, I always want to know more about the author. So here is a little bit about me:

1) Where are you from?

I have lived in Wilmington, NC since I was 8 years old, so that is home for me.  I was born in South Carolina and lived in Virginia for a few years as well.

2) What made you decide to start this blog?

I love reading blogs and the knowledge/information that can be gleaned from them.  Through others’ blogs, I have learned about topics ranging from how to do my hair to having a home birth.  I have enjoyed learning about new topics, but I wanted to be able to share my own thoughts and opinions.

3) What do you do?

I manage several convenience stores. There is never a dull moment!

4) Where did you go to college?

I went to the University of North Carolina Wilmington.  I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Sociology.

5) How did you go from elementary education to running convenience stores?

It would take a very lengthy post to map out my life over the last 5 years, but the gist of it is, God’s timing and plan is perfect, and He’s taken me down a path I couldn’t have even imagined for myself, but I am incredibly thankful for it.

6) How and when did you meet your husband?

My husband, Jeff, and I met in the fourth grade.  He started attending the private school that I had been attending since my family had moved to Wilmington.  However, we weren’t really even friends until our junior year of high school.  We started hanging out a lot and towards the end of our senior year (2005), we started dating.  We got married 3 years later on August 2, 2008.

7) What are some of your favorite things?

I enjoy photography a lot.  I am just an amateur, but I love documenting life through photos.  I also love spending time with friends and family, manicures and pedicures, reading, shopping, and going on dates with my hubby.  My absolute favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls.  I have all 7 seasons on DVD.  “Friends” is a close second.  Some of my favorite books are: The Hunger Games trilogy, The Twilight series, Moloka’i , Something Borrowed, Something Blue, The Chronicles of Narnia,  Safe Haven, The Notebook, The Giver, and Little Women.
